Inventions – L.P.G Conversion – Liam’s Dad

Greetings once again for yet another update on the happenings in Middle C – Recently, as a part of our investigation into science and how it has made our world a better place, Liam’s Dad – Anthony – came out and gave an excellent insight into how and why L.P.G { Liquefied Petroleum Gas} came into being. He took us through it’s history and it’s uses in terms that were easlily understood and had his audience enthralled for the entire 60 minutes. Fantastic effort Anthony and well done to the boys and girls.

Here are some more snaps from our Hands on Science Day. It was a fascinating and much anticipated occasion. In the photos here you can see the students churning cream into butter using a variety of ‘simple machines’. Can you guess what they are?

On Thursday 21st May, we had Debbie from Hands On Science come to our school as a part of our Inquiry investigation into inventions. The theme of her visit was ‘Simple Machines’ -what they can be – how they work and why we have them. She displayed a range pulley’s, levers and cogs along with batteries and motors, eggbeaters and dice – and importantly, how they can combine to make simple machines.

HI-SENSE ARENA – GYMNASTICS -WOW!

On Friday 22 IMG_8817May the Middle School had the good fortune to go to Hi Sense Arena to watch the National Championships for all underage groups up toU18’s – as the competitors battled it out to qualify for the Squad that gets to go to Beijing in 2016. {One of a number of comps before that are selected}.

It was quite an amazing day and a big thank you to our Phys.Ed teacher Mrs.Kay for organizing it. Also to our 4 Mums {Tina and  Franca from Middle C}. It was a day where the students got to observe gymnastics at the highest level as well as participate in a number of gymnastics activities.

They learnt how to warm up – balance one leg – use gym equipment and bend and stretch their bodies into some amazing shapes and positions. A wonderful day and lots of ideas for activities we can do back at school .

Preparing for Reconciliation

Along our inquiry journey we have been investigating the SACRED RITUAL OF RECONCILIATION – {RITE} –

RELIGION
The Rite of Reconciliation for Individual Penitents (First Rite).  The priest welcomes me in the name of Jesus Christ and the Church.
I listen as the priest reads God’s word to me.
ImageFORGIVENESS AND HEALING
I confess my sins in specific areas. I try to be as honest as I can about attitudes which are the causes of my sins. This is what I am asking God to heal in me.
