Well what an amazing term ! With our recent CAROUSEL where we displayed powerpoints and presentations and our various Maths investigations – it has been a great term.

Here are some students thoughts’ about this term.

‘ I am enjoying having a computer buddy’ – Molly

‘I am enjoying how much fun I have had in the term’, Ben

I’ve learnt lot’s of things about people in this class” Jade

‘I learned how to make 3D shapes using matchsticks’ Jenny

I learned how to write pesuasive texts a new way – Natalia

Healthy Lunch – Yum Yum

As a part of our Persuasive Writing  practice, we spent time making some healthy sandwiches. A great opportunity to create something which can then be made into a poster promoting healthy eating. Have a look at a day – and a big thanks to Mrs Yeates who was assiIMG_8032stiIMG_8050ng all of us in making some delicious sandwiches.IMG_8027 IMG_8029 IMG_8031 IMG_8033 IMG_8036 IMG_8035 IMG_8047 IMG_8048 IMG_8040  IMG_8042 IMG_8044 IMG_8057 IMG_8060

Investigating 3 Dimensional Shapes – Week 6

IMG_8001 IMG_7979 IMG_7988 IMG_7987 IMG_7986 IMG_7992In WEEK 6 we were investigating 3 Dimensional Shapes and their properties .

We made them using matchsticks and blu -tac and “Hey Presto!” this is what we came up with.

3D – Means 3 dimensions or aspects to a shape-They are height , depth {length} and width.

These shapes all have two dimensional cousins such as squares , circles and triangles.

Some 3D shapes are stronger than others – i:e they can bare more weight – such as a hexagonal prism compared to a cube.
