Weeks 3 and 4 Inquiry Investigation

This term we are examining how and why landforms vary in their appearnce and  use.

We  have begun by  looking  at ways we can gather and resource information around a specific state  here in Australia.

We have focussed upon using a 5 w’s and a: “H” chart   – which frames questions around who? what? where ? why ? when? and how?

The children will also focus upon a specific feature of the landscape within the state eg: The Great Barrier Reef in Queensland –

They will eventually present their findings to the class either through google docs. or some other means they may wish to choose.

We are all  looking forward to our collaborations and sharings.

GOODBYE MONTY

Sad to hear over the holidays that Lauren’s dog Monty passed away. He came out last term to visit us and was a real hit with the class so we pass on our thoughts and best wishes to Lauren and her family.IMG_3247

THE HOME STRETCH – WELCOME BACK

GREETINGS TO ALL ONCE AGAIN AS WE COME INTO THE HOME STRAIT.

I hope you have all  had a wonderful break with your children and gathering by the stories we have shared it sounds like a good time was had by one and all.

As for me – Well let’s just say my wife and I had a wonderful time as we travelled around Byron Bay and Coolum –  We experienced glorious weather – sparkling beaches and lots of happy campers.

Now that we are home it is great to be back – the students seem well rested and ready for action – and action it is with our Art Show coming up this Friday along with St.Luke’s Parish Feast Day this Sunday

This week  – just passed -we celebrated Italian Day  with traditional fun and festivities – Here are some pics from this day.
